Your choice

Google Analytics loads only after you choose “Allow analytics”. Choose “No thanks” to browse without it. Use “Cookie settings” in the footer to change your choice. We remember your choice in this browser for up to six months. Withdrawing permission stops future Analytics collection and removes accessible Analytics cookies; it does not erase data already sent.

What Analytics measures

With permission, Google Analytics measures page visits and engagement, along with clicks to Amazon and email where those links appear. This helps us understand how visitors find and use the website. Shop clicks are recorded by product and retailer and are not confirmed purchases. We also measure story choices, book-preview opens and free-guide downloads.

Analytics may process online identifiers, device and browser information, approximate location and the site that referred you. Our tracking code strips query strings and fragments from page addresses and referring addresses. Only short campaign labels using letters, numbers, hyphens and underscores are retained from recognised utm_source, utm_medium, utm_campaign, utm_content and utm_term parameters. It does not send email addresses or form contents as custom events.

Cookies and advertising

Google Analytics uses cookies such as _ga and _ga_* to distinguish visits. Our configuration sets these cookies to expire after six months. Google advertising storage, advertising personalisation and Google signals are disabled in our tracking code. We do not use this setup for remarketing.

Google and external services

Google processes Analytics data on infrastructure that may be outside Australia. Read Google’s Privacy Policy and how Google uses information from partner sites. External shops and social platforms operate under their own privacy policies. The Analytics cookie choice controls our Google Analytics setup, not those separate services.

The free storytime guide

You can download the Little Storytime Guide without providing an email address. If you ask us to email it, we use your email address and optional first name to send the requested guide. Requesting the guide does not subscribe you to marketing.

Our website host, Cloudflare, stores the request and Resend delivers the email. These providers may process information outside Australia. We keep guide requests for up to 30 days, removing older requests when the form is next used. We store hashed email and network identifiers briefly to limit repeated requests. Resend also processes delivery information to operate its service.

Optional email updates

When email updates are offered, signing up requires a separate, optional choice and an email confirmation. We store your chosen interests and confirmation record. Marketing messages include preferences and unsubscribe links. You can tell us you already own the collection to stop collection promotions. We retain subscription and opt-out records while needed to manage your choices.

We do not put email addresses or form contents into our website analytics. Confirmation, preference and unsubscribe pages do not load analytics. Please use a grown-up’s email address and do not share a child’s name or private information.
